What is chronotype?

A chronotype is your body’s favorite time of day to be active or sleepy, like having a built-in clock that tells you when you should wake up and when you should go to bed.

Imagine your body is like a robot with a timer. Some robots are ready to zoom around at 7 in the morning, while others prefer to slowly power on at 10. These different timers are what we call chronotypes.

Like a Morning Bird or a Night Owl

Some people are like morning birds, they wake up easily and feel energized early in the day. They're ready for breakfast, school, or work as soon as the sun rises.

Other people are more like night owls, they stay up late, enjoy playing video games or reading under blankets, and feel most alive when it's dark outside.

Your chronotype is just your body’s way of saying, “I like this time of day best.” It helps you decide whether you're a morning person or a night person, and that can affect how well you sleep and how focused you are during the day.
