What is chair?

A chair is something you sit on to rest or play.

What a Chair Looks Like

Imagine your favorite toy, maybe it’s a car or a doll. A chair is like that, but for people. It has four legs, which are like the feet of the chair, and a soft or hard seat where you put your bottom. Some chairs have backrests too, so you can lean back and relax, just like when you sit on the floor with your favorite pillow.

What a Chair Does

When you’re tired from running around or drawing pictures, you can sit on a chair to take a break. It holds you up so you don’t fall over, like how a slide holds you while you go down. You can even push a chair across the room, just like pushing your toy car.

Chairs come in all shapes and sizes, some are tall for grown-ups, and others are short for little kids like you!
