What is capacity?

Capacity is how much something can hold inside it.

Imagine you have a water bottle. If it's empty, you can fill it up with water until it’s full. The amount of water it can take before it spills over is its capacity.

Like a Sandbox

Think of capacity like a sandbox. A small sandbox can hold just a few toys, but a big one can fit all your favorite ones, cars, blocks, even your teddy bear! The bigger the sandbox, the more toys it can take before it’s full.

Filling Up

You can fill up things with different stuff, like water, sand, or even candies. A cup has a certain capacity of water, and a bag has a certain amount of space for snacks. If you put too many candies in the bag, it might burst!

Capacity is just about how much something can take before it’s full, no magic, just fun filling!
