What is British Empire?

The British Empire was like a giant group of friends who all followed one main friend, Britain.

Imagine you have your favorite toy, and you invite all your classmates to play with it. At first, only a few kids are there, but soon more and more come from other rooms in the school, even from different schools! That’s what happened with the British Empire, Britain invited many countries to join in, and they all became part of this big family.

How It Worked

The British Empire was like a team where Britain was the leader. Other countries wanted to be friends with Britain because it helped them feel safe and gave them new ideas, just like how your teacher helps you learn new things.

Sometimes, these countries stayed close to Britain, like having lunch together every day. Sometimes, they went off on their own adventures but still remembered they were part of the big group, kind of like when you go to camp but know you’ll come back home.

Britain didn’t always have to be in charge; it just had to make sure everyone stayed friendly and happy, that’s how a big empire works!
