What is bright?

"Bright means something is very easy to see because it gives off a lot of light."

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy flashlight in a dark room, when you turn it on, everything around you becomes easier to see. That's what bright feels like! It’s like having a sunny day inside a cave.

Like the Sun and the Moon

The sun is super bright because it gives off so much light. When it comes out in the morning, everything looks clearer and more colorful, just like when you turn on your flashlight!

But the moon isn’t as bright as the sun. It reflects some of the sun's light, but not as much. So at night, the moon is still there to help us see a little better, kind of like having a small flashlight in the dark.

Bright Things Around You

You can find bright things all around you:

  • A flashlight
  • A lamp
  • The sun
  • Even your phone screen when it’s on!

So next time something catches your eye because it's easy to see, remember, that thing is bright!
