What is Boiling water?

Boiling water is when water gets so hot it turns into steam and starts jumping out of its container like a happy party.

Water is like a group of little dancers in a room. When you heat them up, like putting them near a fire or on a stove, they start to move faster and faster, just like dancers getting more energetic at a party.

At some point, the water becomes so hot that the dancers are no longer content with just moving fast. They want to leave the room entirely! So they turn into steam, invisible little dancers who float up into the air.

You can see this happening if you put a lid on a pot of boiling water. Tiny bubbles will pop up and escape, like the dancers jumping out through the roof of the room.
