What is boiling? An Introduction?

Boiling is when water turns into steam because it gets really hot.

Imagine you're filling a pot with water and putting it on the stove. As the heat goes up, the water molecules start moving faster and faster, like kids running around in a playground after recess. When they get hot enough, they jump out of the water and go up into the air as steam.

When you see little bubbles forming at the bottom of the pot, that's when the water starts to boil. These bubbles are full of air and steam, and they float up to the top like tiny balloons. When the water is boiling really hard, it looks like there’s a mini storm inside the pot, lots of bubbles rising and popping.

If you put your hand near the pot, you can feel the warmth from the steam, almost like a gentle hug from the heat. That's how boiling works, just like when you're playing with water and heat, turning it into something new!
