What is Bipedalism?

Bipedalism is when creatures walk on two legs, just like you and me.

Imagine you're playing a game of tag at the park. If you had four legs, like a dog, you'd be zooming around super fast, right? But what if you could walk like humans do, using only your two legs? That’s bipedalism!

How It Works

When you take a step forward, your legs work together to push you up and move you ahead. Your arms can swing freely while you walk, maybe even help you balance when you run! This is different from animals like cats or dogs who use all four legs at once.

Why It's Cool

Think of it like this: if you're carrying a big backpack full of toys, walking on two legs helps you move more easily than if you had to carry that weight on all fours. That’s why humans, and some other animals, chose bipedalism as their way to move around the world!
