What is bandwidth?

Bandwidth is how much information can move from one place to another at the same time.

Imagine you're sharing toys with your friend in the playground. If you only pass one toy at a time, it takes longer for all the toys to get shared. But if you both pass two toys at once, like handing each other a bunch of blocks, you can share more toys faster. That’s like having more bandwidth.

How Bandwidth Works

Think of your phone or computer as a toy box. When you're watching a video, playing a game, or talking to someone on the phone, it's like sending and receiving toys at the same time. The bigger the bandwidth, the more "toys", or information, can move back and forth without getting stuck in traffic.

If your bandwidth is small (like a tiny toy box), you might notice things getting slower, videos buffering, games lagging, or calls cutting out. But if your bandwidth is big (like a giant toy box), everything moves smoothly and quickly!
