What is back-and-forth?

Back-and-forth is when two things switch places or take turns doing something, like a game of tag.

Imagine you and your friend are playing with a ball. You throw it to each other, you catch it, then you throw it back. That’s back-and-forth!

Think of a seesaw at the playground. When one person goes up, the other goes down. Then they switch places, that's back-and-forth, too.
