What is await?

Await is like asking a friend to wait for you before continuing their story, it lets one part of a task pause while another finishes up.

Imagine you're baking cookies. You start by mixing the dough, but then you need to wait for the oven to heat up before you can put them in. That waiting time is like await, it pauses the recipe so the oven has time to do its job.

Like a Traffic Light

Think of await as a traffic light. When you're baking cookies, you’re driving your car (the main task), and the oven is another car on the road. When you hit a red light (await), you stop and wait for it to turn green before moving on.

Like Waiting for Your Turn

If you're playing a game with friends and someone needs to roll a dice first, await is like saying “I’ll wait until they finish rolling before I take my turn.” It keeps the game flowing smoothly without everyone rushing at once.

So, await is just a friendly pause, it lets one thing finish so another can carry on. No magic, just good timing!
