What is avoid?

Avoid is when you stay away from something you don’t want to touch or get near.

Imagine you have a cookie jar full of your favorite chocolate chip cookies. But there’s also one cookie that’s super sticky, and it leaves goo everywhere. You don’t want to touch that one, so instead of grabbing it, you avoid it.

Like Picking the Good Toy

Think about playing with toys in a toy box. If there’s a toy that makes loud noises and scares you, you might avoid it and pick a quieter one instead. That’s like avoid, you're staying away from something not so fun or maybe even a little annoying.

Avoid Can Be Smart

Sometimes avoiding is actually smart! Like when you see a big puddle on the floor and you don’t want to get your shoes wet, so you avoid it and walk around. You’re choosing to stay dry instead of getting your feet muddy. That’s avoid in action, simple, clever, and very real!
