Australia is like a big, friendly playground that’s all by itself in one corner of the world.
Australia is a country, which means it's a place where lots of people live together. It's so large that if you imagine your whole neighborhood being as big as a city block, Australia would be like hundreds of those blocks put together!

Full of Different Places
In some parts of Australia, it's warm and sunny, like when you're outside playing on a summer day. In other parts, it can be cold and windy, like when you’re wearing your coat on a chilly morning. There are also mountains, which are like really tall hills that go up into the sky, and deserts, which are big areas with very little water, kind of like if your sandbox had no sand and just tiny pebbles.
Australia is special because it's home to many animals you might not see anywhere else, like kangaroos and koalas. It’s a fun place with lots of different things to explore!
