What is atmospheric?

Atmospheric means something is related to the air around us, like the sky and weather.

Imagine you're outside on a sunny day, that warm feeling is because of the air, or atmosphere, above your head. The atmosphere is like a big, invisible blanket that wraps around Earth. It helps keep us warm, makes rain fall, and even lets planes fly!

Like a Blanket Around Earth

Think about wearing a cozy blanket on a chilly night, it keeps you warm by trapping heat. The atmosphere works kind of the same way. It traps some of the sun’s warmth so we don’t get too cold at night.

Sometimes, when there's rain or snow, that’s because the air is doing its job, changing from one form to another. So, atmospheric things are all about how the air moves and changes around us, like a friendly blanket that keeps Earth comfortable!
