What is Anima/animus?

Anima and animus are like two special friends that live inside your brain, one helps you understand what it's like to be a girl, and the other helps you understand what it's like to be a boy.

Anima is like your imaginary friend who helps you see the world from a girl’s point of view. Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy car, and suddenly you can imagine how fun it would be if your best friend, who loves pretty clothes and dancing, was driving that car instead! That's anima at work.

Animus is like the imaginary superhero who helps you see the world from a boy’s point of view. Think about when you're building a big tower with blocks, and you imagine how cool it would be if your dad, who loves fixing things and playing football, was helping you build that tower. That's animus at work.

These friends are always there, even if you don’t notice them, they help you understand other people better, and sometimes even help you understand yourself!
