What is allocation?

Allocation is when you decide how to share or use something among different people or things.

Imagine you have a big cake and you want to give pieces of it to your friends at a party. You need to figure out how many slices each friend gets, that’s like allocation! It's about making fair choices so everyone feels happy with what they get.

How Allocation Works

Let’s say the cake has 12 slices, and there are 4 friends. To find out how many slices each person gets, you divide the total number of slices by the number of friends: 12 ÷ 4 = 3. So each friend gets 3 slices, that's allocation in action!

Now imagine the cake is a big toy box, and instead of slices, it has toys. Allocation would be like deciding who gets which toy to make sure everyone feels good about their choice.

Sometimes you might not have enough of something, just like if the cake only had 8 slices but there are still 4 friends. Then you need to decide whether to give some people extra slices or find another way to share fairly.

That’s allocation in a nutshell: sharing what you have, so everyone gets their part!
