What is AI Hallucination?

AI Hallucination is when AI makes up information that isn’t true, just like when you think you see a monster under your bed, but it's really just your shadow.

Imagine you have a robot friend named R2-D2 who loves to tell stories. Most of the time, R2-D2 tells great stories about space adventures and faraway planets. But sometimes, R2-D2 gets confused and makes up parts of the story that never happened, like saying you met an alien on your way to school when you actually just walked past the bakery.

This is AI Hallucination: the robot (or AI) creates information that isn’t real because it got mixed up or didn't have enough clues.

How It Happens

Think of AI like a detective trying to solve a mystery. The detective reads a few clues, but sometimes there aren't enough. So the detective guesses, and sometimes that guess is wrong. That’s just like how R2-D2 might say something made up if it doesn’t know the full story.

Why It Matters

If R2-D2 tells you you met an alien at school, you might believe it, but when you get to class and no one talks about aliens, you’ll know something was off. AI Hallucination can be fun, but sometimes it's tricky because you have to figure out what’s real and what’s just a guess.
