What is agriculture?

Agriculture is when people grow food and plants, or raise animals to help feed others.

Like a Big Garden at Home

Imagine your house has a big garden in the backyard, but instead of just growing tomatoes for you, it grows enough food for an entire town! That’s what agriculture is like, but even bigger. People use special techniques and tools to make sure crops grow strong and animals are healthy so they can give us milk, eggs, or meat.

Like a Farm with Friends

Think of a farm as a team of friends working together. Some friends plant seeds in the ground like little puzzle pieces. Others water them every day, just like you might water your plants at home. Later, when the plants grow into fruits, vegetables, or even grains like wheat, people harvest them, that means they pick them to bring to stores or homes.

Agriculture is how we make sure there’s always enough food for everyone!
