What is Adaptability?

Adaptability is when you can change how you do things to fit new situations.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite blocks, stacking them up high to make a tower. Suddenly, the floor gets wet, maybe there was a spill! You can't just keep stacking like before, or your blocks might slide and fall. But instead of getting sad, you think: What else can I do with these blocks? Maybe you build a bridge across the wet spot, or you make a boat to float on the water. That’s adaptability, changing your plan to keep playing.

When You're Flexible Like a Pretzel

Think of adaptability like being as flexible as a pretzel. A pretzel can twist and turn in many ways, it doesn’t get upset if it's not shaped exactly how it started. Similarly, when things change around you, like moving to a new school or switching from drawing to playing soccer, adaptability helps you bend and adjust without getting stuck.

Sometimes being adaptable means trying something new, even if it’s messy or tricky at first. It’s like learning to ride a bike: you wobble, fall, but keep going until you’re zipping along like a wind-blown leaf!
