A woman is someone who has lived through becoming a girl, and now lives as a woman, just like how a tree grows from being a seedling to being a big tree.
What Does It Mean to Be a Woman?
Imagine you have a favorite teddy bear. When you were little, it was your baby teddy bear, soft and small. Now that you're bigger, you still love it, but maybe you hold it differently or even give it new clothes. That's like being a woman, you're still the same person inside, just growing up.
How We Know Someone Is a Woman
Sometimes people look at someone and say, "Oh, I know she's a woman!" But sometimes they need to ask her, just like how we might not always know if something is a book, but we can check by reading it or asking the person who owns it.
A woman doesn't have to do anything special to be one. She just lives her life, and that's enough.
Examples
- A child learning that some people identify as women even if they were born male.
- A teacher explaining how being a woman can mean different things to different people.
- A student seeing posters in school showing diverse women from all walks of life.
