What is a Humanist?

A Humanist is someone who believes that people are amazing and can solve problems just by being clever, kind, and curious.

Imagine you have a toy box full of different toys, cars, blocks, dolls, and balls. A Humanist is like the kid who thinks, “I don’t need magic to make this work, I can figure it out myself!” Instead of waiting for someone else to tell them what to do, they try things out, ask questions, and learn from their mistakes.

A Humanist believes that people are the main stars in the story of life. They think we can make better schools, friendlier cities, and more fun games just by working together and using our brains.

They might also believe that even though there are many different kinds of people, with different colors, languages, and traditions, we all share something important: the ability to be kind, brave, and clever.

So a Humanist is like a kid who says, “Let’s build the biggest tower together!”, not because someone told them to, but because they believe in what people can do when they work as a team.
