Like Sharing Candy
Suppose you and your best friend each have a bag of candy. If your friend says, "I’ll give you 50% of my candy every month," that means every month, you get half of their candy. So if they had 10 candies, you’d get 5. Next month, if they still have 10 candies left, you'd get another 5.
Like Growing a Plant
Or think about growing a plant. If your plant grows by 50% each month, that means it gets half bigger every month. So if it was 2 feet tall in January, it would be 3 feet tall in February (because half of 2 is 1), and then 4.5 feet tall in March, growing like a happy, healthy plant!
Examples
- A savings account that doubles every month
- A plant growing twice as tall each month
- Your number of followers doubling on social media every month
