How it works
- When you say "5", that's the starting number.
- Then you say "4", one less than before.
- Next is "3", then "2", and finally, "1", just like counting down on a clock.
This kind of counting helps you focus or get excited for something special. Maybe it's the start of your favorite game, or when you're getting ready to jump into a pool.
Why we use it
People use "5-4-3-2-1" in many places, like when astronauts are going up in space or when you're launching a rocket on a toy! It helps everyone be ready at the same time.
Examples
- A rocket is about to take off, and the announcer counts down from 5 to 1 before launch.
- You're waiting for a big concert, and they count down from 5 to 1 before it starts.
- Your teacher uses a countdown from 5 to 1 to help you prepare for a test.
