What is 365 days?

365 days is how long it takes for Earth to go all the way around the Sun once.

Imagine you have a big toy train that goes around a circle track, that’s like Earth going around the Sun. Every time your train completes one full loop, that’s one year, and it takes 365 days to do that.

Like counting cookies

Think of each day as a cookie. If you had 365 cookies in a jar, and you ate one cookie every single day, that would take the whole jar to be empty, and that’s how long a year feels!

The Earth’s journey

The Sun is like your favorite friend who stays put while you run around them. Every morning, when the Sun rises, it's like saying, “Hello, new day!” And every night, when the Sun sets, it’s like saying, “Goodbye, old day!”

So after 365 of those days, like eating all your cookies, Earth has finished one full circle around the Sun, and that’s one year!
