What is 15 minutes? It’s like having three short stories read to you one after another.

Imagine your favorite storytime, when you sit with a grown-up and they tell you a tale about dragons or robots or space adventures. Each of those stories usually takes about five minutes to tell. So if you have three of them, that’s 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 minutes.

If you’re playing with blocks or drawing pictures, 15 minutes feels like having enough time for three rounds of your favorite game, maybe even a little extra to grab a snack in between!

Think about the clock on the wall. When the big hand moves from one number to the next, that’s five minutes. So if it goes from 12 to 3, that’s 15 minutes, like counting up to 3 while playing your favorite game.

You can also think of it as how long it takes for a song to play three times, or for a cartoon to run through three of its funniest parts!
