What if there were 1 trillion more trees? - Jean-François Bastin

Imagine Earth had 1 trillion more trees, that’s like adding 100 new forests every day!

What is a trillion?

A trillion is a huge number. Think of it this way: if you had 1,000 toy blocks, that's a thousand. If you had 1,000 of those groups, that’s a million. And if you had 1,000 of those, that’s a billion! Now imagine having 1,000 of that, that’s a trillion! So, adding 1 trillion trees is like making Earth grow a lot greener.

What would that do to our planet?

Trees are like Earth's lungs, they breathe in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. If we had more trees, the air would be cleaner, and it might help slow down things like climate change. It’s like giving Earth a big hug from all those new trees!

Also, more trees could mean more homes for animals, more places to play, and even more fruits to eat, just think of all the extra apples, bananas, and berries! Imagine Earth had 1 trillion more trees, that’s like adding 100 new forests every day!
