Like a Big Game of Tag
The planets are like you and your friends, they move around the Sun, which is like the tag player. If the planets changed positions, it would be like everyone in the game swapped places. Earth might end up where Mars is now, and Mars could be where Venus used to be.
What Would Happen?
If that happened, things on Earth could feel different. For example, if we were closer to the Sun, we might get hotter, kind of like moving closer to a fire in winter. If we moved farther away, it would feel colder, like stepping into the freezer at the grocery store.
But even though everything changed places, life would still go on, just maybe with a little more heat or a little more cold!
Examples
- If Jupiter came closer, its gravity could pull us off our orbit!
