When we are tired, our body and brain need to rest so they can work well again.
Imagine your brain is like a toy that you play with all day long, it gets used up from thinking, running, jumping, or even just sitting still. When it's tired, it needs a break, kind of like how your toy needs to be put back in the box after you're done playing with it.
What the body feels
Your body also feels worn out when you’re tired. Your legs might feel heavy, like they’re carrying bricks instead of just walking. Your eyes might get sleepy, like when you watch a really long cartoon and suddenly everything goes blurry, that’s your brain saying, “I need to rest now!”
What happens during sleep
When you go to bed, your body starts to relax, and your brain goes into rest mode. It’s like hitting the pause button on all the fun things happening in your head. You might dream about something that happened during the day, it's your brain sorting out everything you did while you were awake.
So when you wake up, your toy (your brain) is ready to play again, and your body feels fresh and full of energy!
