What Does 'Multicultural' Mean? (InterCom Live: December 12, 2022)?

A multicultural group is like having several different kinds of candy in one big bowl, each kind has its own flavor and color, but they all come together to make something fun and tasty.

Imagine you're at a party where people from many different places are playing games. Some people speak English, some Spanish, some French, and others might even speak a language you've never heard before. Each person brings their own culture, that’s like the special way they live, eat, play, and talk.

What is Culture?

Culture is like your favorite bedtime story, it's how you grew up. It includes things like:

  • The food you love to eat
  • The music you dance to
  • The holidays you celebrate

So when a group is multicultural, it means people from many different backgrounds are all together, sharing their stories and traditions just like in that big candy bowl.

When you're at the party, you might see someone wearing clothes from another country or hear a song sung in a language you don’t know, but that’s what makes it exciting! You get to try new things and learn about others.
