Like Sharing a Secret
When you teach someone something new, it's kind of like sharing a secret. If you know how to tie your shoes really fast, and you show your little brother how to do it too, now he has that same secret. He can use it every time his shoes come untied!
Like Being a Guide on a Map
Sometimes, helping others learn is like being their guide on a map. You point the way so they can find their own path later. Maybe you help them count how many steps it takes to get from the kitchen to the living room, now they know how to do it by themselves next time.
Learning is like building with blocks too: one piece at a time, and soon you have something big!
Examples
- A teacher explains math problems using simple examples.
- A parent helps a child learn to read by reading aloud together.
- A friend shows another how to fix a bicycle.
