The Romans had big dreams about what life would be like in the far-off future, just like you might imagine what your life will be like when you're older.
Imagine you have a toy train that goes around a track, and it never stops. That’s kind of how the Romans saw their empire, always growing, always moving forward. They thought cities would get even bigger, with more people, more roads, and maybe even more roads than they could count!
They also believed there’d be better tools and machines to help people do jobs faster, like having a special kind of helper robot in every house, although they didn’t have robots, of course.
The Romans were especially excited about the idea that one day, people might live on different parts of the Earth, not just the ones they knew. It was like imagining you and your friends living in totally different towns but still being able to play together somehow!
So, even though they didn’t have computers or rockets, the Romans had a really creative view of what life would be like, kind of like making up the best possible story about tomorrow!
