Stars come in many colors, just like the crayons you use to draw pictures!
You might think all stars are white or yellow, but that’s only because we see our Sun that way, it's like a bright yellow light in the sky. But if you look closely at the night sky with your eyes or a telescope, you can see some stars that are blue, red, or even purple!
Why Stars Have Different Colors
Stars have different colors because they're hot or cool. Think about a campfire, when it's really hot, the flames are bright white or blue. When it’s cooler, the fire is more orange or red.
Stars work the same way:
- A blue star is like a super-hot campfire, it burns very bright and fast.
- A red star is like a slower-burning fire, it's not as hot, so it glows more gently.
So next time you look up at the sky, remember, stars are like colored crayons in the universe! 🌟
