Lightning happens when the sky gets super charged, like when you rub your feet on a carpet and get zapped by the door. Inside clouds, tiny particles bounce around and create electric charges. When there's enough of these charges, they jump from one place to another in a flash, that’s the lightning spark! It feels like a jolt because it moves really fast and has a lot of energy.
