What Causes the ‘Mystery’ of Lost Treasure Ships?

Imagine you're playing with a toy boat on a pond. Sometimes, the water gets too rough, and your boat disappears underwater, just like real treasure ships. When storms come or maps are wrong, ships can get lost in the deep sea, never to be seen again.

Storms are big enemies of ships. A big wave can capsize a ship, sending all its treasure into the ocean forever. Maps aren’t always right, either, sailors might follow an old map that’s not accurate anymore, leading them off course and out of sight.
