Plague is a sickness caused by tiny germs called bacteria. These germs live in rats and fleas, and they jump from one animal to another, and sometimes into people! When people get plague, it can make them very sick or even kill them. To stop the plague, people used simple methods like burning herbs and keeping their homes clean.
Examples
- A rat bites a person, and they get very sick with swollen lymph nodes.
- Doctors wear masks made of cloth to protect themselves from infected patients.
