Light pollution is like when too many lights are shining in the sky, making it hard to see the stars. It happens because cities have lots of bright lights from buildings and streets. These lights go up into the air and make the night look brighter than it should be. This can confuse animals and even affect how humans sleep.
Examples
- A child tries to count the stars from their bedroom window but can only see a few because the city lights are too bright.
- A bat gets lost while flying through a city because the lights confuse it and make it hard to find its way back home.
- An office worker finds it difficult to sleep at night due to the bright streetlights outside their apartment.
