Fog is like a blanket made of tiny water droplets. When the air gets really cool, it can’t hold all the water vapor anymore, and that’s when fog appears! Mist is similar but happens near water, like in the morning by a lake or after you take a hot shower. Fog feels thicker and covers more ground, while mist is lighter and shorter.
Examples
- Fog rolls over a sleepy town at dawn, turning streets into a sea of white.
- Mist rises from a lake as the sun peeks over the horizon.
- You step out of the shower, and mist fills the bathroom like a tiny cloud.
