A drought happens when there's very little rain for a long time, like when the sky forgets to water the plants. A flood happens when there’s too much rain all at once, like when the sky pours buckets of water onto the ground. Drought and flood are like two sides of the same coin, one is too dry, the other is too wet.

Examples

A drought makes your garden look like a desert, but after heavy rains, it turns into a muddy swamp.
