What are writing surfaces?

A writing surface is just a place where you can write or draw, like a piece of paper or a whiteboard.

Imagine you have a notebook, that’s your writing surface. When you use a pencil or crayon to make marks on it, you’re writing or drawing. It's the same idea if you're using a chalkboard in class and writing with chalk, the board is the writing surface.

Like a Playground for Letters

Think of a writing surface like a playground for letters and numbers. Just as kids run around and play on a playground, you can write or draw on a writing surface. Some writing surfaces are smooth, like paper, while others are rougher, like cardboard.

You might even use your fingers to write on a tablet, that’s also a writing surface! It's just like drawing in the sand at the beach, but instead of water, you have a screen.

Every time you write a story or solve a math problem, you're using a writing surface. It helps you keep track of your thoughts and ideas.
