What are writers?

Writers are people who create stories by putting words together like building blocks.

Imagine you have a box full of colorful LEGO bricks. Each brick is a word, some are short and simple, like "the" or "cat," and others are long and fancy, like "adventure" or "superhero." A writer is someone who picks those bricks out of the box and arranges them in special ways to make something fun, like a story about a cat who goes on an adventure.

How Writers Work

Writers don’t just pick words at random. They think about what makes a good story, like having a beginning, middle, and end. Sometimes they write about things that happen in real life, like going to the park or eating ice cream. Other times, they make up totally new worlds with superheroes or dragons.

Just like how you might build a tower with your LEGO bricks, writers use their imagination to put words together and create something amazing, a story that someone else can read and enjoy!
