What are wormholes?

A wormhole is like a secret tunnel between two places that you can walk through, kind of like a shortcut on your way to school.

Imagine you and your friend are playing with building blocks. You build a big wall in the middle of the room, and it takes forever to go around it. But then, you both dig a hole under the wall and find each other on the other side, that’s kind of like what a wormhole does!

Think of space as a giant piece of paper. If you fold that paper so two points touch, you can jump from one point to another instantly. That’s how a wormhole connects two distant places in the universe.

If we could use wormholes, we might be able to travel across the galaxy in no time, like stepping through a doorway instead of riding a spaceship for years!
