A word is like a building block you use to make sentences, and a phrase is like a group of blocks working together to build something fun.

What is a Phrase?
Now imagine you take out a few toys and put them together, that’s like making a phrase. A phrase is a group of words working together to say something more complete. For example, "a red ball" is a phrase because it uses two words, "red" and "ball", to describe one toy in more detail.
You can think of phrases like a team, each word helps the others do their job better!
Examples
- A child learns that 'apple' is a fruit and 'run fast' means to move quickly.
- A dog hears the phrase 'walk time' and gets excited.
