What are wait times?

Wait times are how long you have to wait for something to happen.

Imagine you're at a burger restaurant and you want your favorite burger. But there's already a line of people waiting before you. When you get to the counter, the person behind the counter says, "Okay, let me make that burger," but it takes a little while, maybe they have to cook the meat, add cheese, and put everything together. That time between when you order and when you get your burger is called wait time.

Like a Line at the Playground

Think of it like waiting in line for the slide at the playground. If no one is there, you can go right away. But if there are five kids before you, each taking turns on the slide, you have to wait until they're done. That waiting period, from when you get in line to when it’s your turn, is like wait time.

Sometimes, people or things move faster or slower, just like some kids go down the slide quicker than others. So sometimes you have a short wait time, and sometimes it's longer, but it's always about waiting for something you want!
