What are uncountable infinities?

There are infinities that you can’t count, they’re too big even for numbers to handle.

Imagine you have a bag full of jellybeans. You can count them one by one: 1, 2, 3… and so on. That’s like the kind of infinity we call countable. But now imagine a big, never-ending beach, every grain of sand is a number. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never finish counting all the grains. That’s an uncountable infinity.

Jellybeans vs. Sand

  • If you have a bag of jellybeans, even if it's really big, you can still count them one by one.
  • But if you're trying to count every grain of sand on a beach, and the beach goes on forever, you’ll never finish counting them all. That’s like uncountable infinity.

It’s like having two kinds of number worlds: one where you can list everything out, and another where things are so packed in that you just can’t keep up with the numbers. There are infinities that you can’t count, they’re too big even for numbers to handle.
