What are transitional regions?

Transitional regions are places where two different areas come together and mix to make something new.

Imagine you're playing with blocks, some are red, some are blue. A transitional region is like the area where the red blocks slowly turn into blue blocks. It's not all red or all blue, it’s a little bit of both, kind of like how your favorite snack can be a mix of two things you love.

Like a Colorful Path

Think of walking from your house to the park. At first, you're on a smooth road, but as you get closer to the park, the road turns into grass and trees. That area where the road meets the park is a transitional region, it’s part road, part park.

Or Like a Melting Ice Cream

If you have an ice cream cone that's half chocolate and half vanilla, the middle part where they mix together is also a transitional region, it's not just chocolate or just vanilla anymore; it’s something in between!

These special zones help make changes feel gentle instead of sudden. Just like how your favorite snack can be a mix of two things you love!
