What are traffic signs?

Traffic signs are messages that help people know what to do on the road, like a friendly helper who shouts directions from a faraway place.

Imagine you're playing a game of tag with your friends in the park. Suddenly, someone puts up a big red sign that says "Stop!", just like when a teacher tells the class to be quiet. That’s exactly what traffic signs do: they tell drivers and walkers what to do or what's coming next.

Like a Road Map

Think of traffic signs as road map helpers. Some signs are like your favorite teacher telling you it's time for recess, they show you where you can go, like "Turn Left" or "School Ahead." Others are like a strict parent saying "No Running!", they tell you what not to do, like "No Parking" or "Speed Limit 30."

Signs Work Together

Just like how your friends help each other in the game of tag, traffic signs work together. One sign might say "Stop," and another might say "Go," helping everyone stay safe and move smoothly through the road, just like a team playing their best game!
