What are tourists?

Tourists are people who go to new places to explore and have fun.

Imagine you're at school, and one day your teacher says, "Today we’re going on a field trip!" You pack a bag, get into the bus, and head somewhere you’ve never been before, maybe a park, a zoo, or even another city. That’s what tourists do, but instead of going on a field trip once a week, they might go to new places every day, every month, or even every year.

Tourists are like students who take many field trips, they visit different cities, countries, and places. They try new foods, talk to people from other backgrounds, and sometimes even learn how to say “hello” in another language.

Some tourists go because they want to see famous landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower or the Great Wall of China. Others just want to relax on a beach or walk through a busy market with lots of colorful stalls. No matter why they go, tourists are people who love discovering new things in the world around them, just like you when you go on your favorite field trips!
