Thirty phalanges are like having 30 little finger bones, but not just on your hands and feet.
Imagine you have a toy robot that can wiggle its fingers like yours do. Each finger has small, bony parts called phalanges, which help it move. On each hand, you have five fingers, and each finger (except the thumb) has three of these little bones, that’s 3 x 4 = 12 on one hand. Do the same for your other hand, and that’s 24. Now add your toes! Each foot also has five toes, with three phalanges per toe (again, except the big toe), giving you another 24, total of 48. But wait! That's if you count all of them.
Now imagine we're only counting some of those little bones, just 30 of them. Maybe you’re thinking about your hands and feet, but not all of them. So thirty phalanges are like having part of a full set of finger and toe bones, enough to make your fingers wiggle and toes tap!
Like Building Blocks
Think of each phalange as a tiny building block. When you stack them together, they help your fingers bend and twist, just like stacking blocks makes a tower! Thirty phalanges are like having 30 little finger bones, but not just on your hands and feet.
