What is the sun?
Imagine you have a super big, hot balloon, like the kind you blow up at school, but way bigger and way hotter. That's the sun! It’s right above us, shining bright every day. The sun gives us light and heat, which help plants grow, let us play outside, and keep us warm when it’s cold.
What are stars?
Now imagine you’re looking up at the night sky, and there are tiny points of light, those are stars! They're like the sun, but very far away. Some stars are much bigger than our sun, and some are smaller. They twinkle because the air above us wobbles a bit when we look at them from Earth.
So both the sun and stars are giant fireballs that light up the universe, one is close to us, and many are way out in space!
Examples
- Imagine the sun as your favorite lamp at home, and stars are like tiny lamps scattered across the night sky.
- You can feel the warmth of the sun, while stars are visible only when it's dark.
