AI perception is like having a robot friend who can see and hear, but not always perfectly.
Imagine your friend tries to guess what you're drawing by looking at it from across the room, sometimes they get it right, but other times they might think you drew a cat when it's really a dog. That’s AI perception: the robot is trying to understand the world around it, just like your friend is trying to understand your drawing.
AI has a limited view
Sometimes, AI only sees what's in front of it, like looking through a keyhole. If something moves out of sight or gets covered up, the AI might not notice. It’s like playing hide and seek with your eyes closed, you can’t see what’s hiding behind the couch.
AI doesn't always know what it's seeing
AI also has trouble figuring out what things are if they look a little different. Imagine your friend sees a red ball, but then the ball rolls under the table, your friend might not realize it's still there because it looks like the floor now. That’s how AI can get confused too!
